一、课程的性质、目的与任务:
《现代大学英语――听力》课程是为英语专业学生学习其它专业课程打好基础及在听力方面用英语无障碍交流的一门基础课程，是一门培养学生听力能力的课程。听力是英语四项基本技能之一。本课程的任务是通过多种形式、多种内容的课堂教学与学生的课外学习和实践活动相结合，使学生的听力能力由初等水平逐渐提高到中高级水平，同时也为培养学生的英语交际能力奠定一个良好的基础。
二、教学基本要求
1．通过“视”、“听”、“说”的结合，以直接画面的情节内容为基础，开展有针对性的口语训练，使学生能够正确辨别语音，掌握发音难点，接受并习惯英语的正常语速；掌握情景对话的内容并做到熟练运用；掌握英语使用的特定环境和会话技巧；通过运用复述、总结、对话、口头概述、即席演讲，提高口头表达思想的能力。
2．在教学过程中，要始终坚持以“听”为主的原则，要让学生慢慢学会在听的过程中去获取语言的信息，而不能先读书面材料再听录音。只有坚持不看材料先听录音才是训练听力的正确途径。
3．指导学生带着问题去听，即抓紧练习前和两个练习之间的间隔，事先浏览下一个练习所提的问题，这样就能知道在听的过程中要抓住和记下哪些要点和关键词，以便有目标地寻找答案，集中注意力搜寻我们需要的信息。
4．指导学生加强课外听力训练，养成收听收看英语广播电视的习惯。鼓励学生阅读有关英语国家社会文化的书籍，为听力训练做必要的背景知识准备。
三、教学内容与学时分配
本课程的内容分布在《现代大学英语――听力》（第一、二、三、四册）中，《现代大学英语――听力》供英语（英日双外语方向）一年级和二年级学生四个学期使用，总学时为268学时。各学期的教学内容及学时分配如下：

基本要求：Learn about some basics of broadcast news (e.g. lead, news structure, vocabulary, sentence pattern), particularly those in special English.
重点：Understand special English news on certain topical issues (e.g. international cooperation, the Microsoft case and space travel).
难点：Catch key information contained in news broadcast in simple standard English

四、大纲说明
1.大纲制定依据： 本大纲根据高等学校外语专业教学指导委员会制定的《高等学校英语专业英语教学大纲》而制定。 本课程为英语专业主干基础课， 开设两年，总学时为256。总学分为12.
2课程教学目的： 听力教学以培养听力技能为主线， 通过专门系统的听力技能单项及综合训练， 培养学生在用英语进行交际过程中快速反应，准确辨别，分析推理，归纳总结信息处理及记录和记忆等能力。
3.教学要求：教学按照循序渐进的原则，分第一学年，第二学年共四个学期完成。分别作如下要求：
第一学期：（《现代大学英语听力1》）
主要教学内容是帮助学生逐渐学会通过听来获取英语的素材，培养初步的听力技能。具体训练内容包括学会辨音、掌握弱读、连读、缩略词的朗读技巧；学会对简单的语音信息作出判断和分析，包括对数词（年份、日期、年龄、电话号码、地址、小数、百分数等）简单句简单对话短文及新闻的听力训练；熟悉听力训练的主要练习形式，培养初步的听力技能。
第二学期：（《现代大学英语听力2》）
主要教学内容是在第一学期的基础上进一步加强听力技能的训练。具体内容包括对重读、重音、语调、数词（多位数甚至是十几位数数字）地点、人名、并列句、复合句和对话、短文的听力技能的训练，提高学生抓住大意、听取细节及做笔记的能力。
第三学期：（《现代大学英语听力3》）
主要教学内容是语境真实、内容广泛的听力训练。内容包括以地理、历史知识和文化风俗知识为背景的谈话和小故事等，进一步提高学生抓住大意、听取细节的能力，学会辨别讲话人的态度和语气。
第四学期：（《现代大学英语听力4》）
主要教学内容是进行专业四级强化训练，进一步强化听力技能的训练，使学生能听懂英语国家人日常生活、社会文化方面交谈或演讲，听懂标准英语新闻广播，抓住要点和有关细节，听懂比较简易的电影和电视片段。
